PRODUCTIVITY, LONGEVITY & QUALITY OF LIFE
Sustainable high performance can be defined as exceeding expected standards in both the long and the short term. To be able to sustainably exceed set standards in performance an individual must be in balance with the key constructs of career productivity (CP) and career longevity (CL). CP can be defined as a sample of one time when an individual must perform to the highest possible level. CL is a trend of that performance over a long-term period. CL is, by nature, inextricably linked to the quality of life (QOL) of an individual. QOL manifests itself in a multi-dimensional manner, encompassing emotional, physical, material, and social well-being. The interaction between these constructs can be found in figure 1.
Being able to perform to the highest level for the longest period demands an appreciation for the complex nature of the human system and the different facets that go toward enhancing quality of life, longevity, and performance. If QOL is poor the ability to perform will be hindered in the long term and, potentially, short term, depending on the nature of the discrepancy. If we adequately balance the variables associated with QOL then performance can be maintained and improved far beyond the typical career window length.

Note - Under typical circumstances physical skill reduces sharply. With an optimized career window physical is maintained for a longer period as technical skill reaches its peak through the experience of the individual.

These courses are designed to limit “away from the desk” learning, giving greater in work practice of principles taught. These learnings are reviewed through independent and specific development plans that are mentored and coached by our extensive network of public and private sector leaders.
